Integrate with Customer Insights
Customer Insights – Journeys and Customer Insights – Data both integrate directly with Dynamics 365 Sales to create lead records automatically. These integrations eliminate manual re-entry and ensure marketing-generated leads flow directly into the sales pipeline.
Customer Insights – Journeys (the marketing automation platform) pushes leads to Dynamics 365 Sales when contacts respond to marketing journeys — email campaigns, event registrations, or web form submissions. For Contoso, this means leads from email campaigns or product webinars arrive in Sales Hub automatically, tagged with the campaign source.
Customer Insights – Data can sync unified customer profiles as leads based on segment membership. When a customer profile meets certain criteria — such as high engagement scores or specific behavioral patterns — Customer Insights – Data creates a lead record in Dynamics 365 Sales. This approach helps Contoso identify high-intent prospects from their broader customer data platform.
Validate email addresses on leads
Email validation helps maintain data quality by identifying invalid, personal, or undeliverable email addresses before your sales team begins outreach. When leads arrive from bulk imports, web forms, or purchased lists, email validation ensures you don’t waste time on bad data.
The Sales Qualification Agent includes automatic email validation as part of its research process. It categorizes email addresses as work, personal, or invalid based on domain analysis and deliverability checks. Admins configure which email field on the lead form the agent validates, and sellers can review and correct the agent’s categorization. For bulk-imported leads, this validation step helps prioritize which leads warrant immediate follow-up and which need additional research.
Now that you understand how leads enter Dynamics 365 Sales through multiple channels, you’re ready to explore how the lead form captures and organizes that information for qualification.
