Being strong doesn’t always mean being tough. Sometimes strength is shown through kindness, through staying gentle even after everything you’ve been through. Not everyone deserves access to your softness, but it doesn’t mean you should lose it.
Let your heart remain warm, just be wiser about who you let near it. You can be soft without being naive, and kind without being used.
